Well guys, it’s been a long time coming, but the What a Naughty Unicorn book is now out!  Thank you to everyone who has supported me during its creation and to everyone who has made me feel like this silly little web comic of mine is something worth doing 🙂

Well, as of typing this, the What a Naughty Unicorn book is sent to the printers for review.  I’m supposed to hear feedback within 24 hours, it’s been 23, so they’re sure cutting it close (I type this stuff before I go to bed, so you’re in the future right now, hello from yesterday night!).  Hopefully, I’ll be able to order a proof of the book tomorrow, and if that’s all good, I’ll be able to order a few to take with me to Dunfermline Comic Con in March 🙂

This cartoon is another sneak peek from the book and shows one of the main themes of the story line.

Naughty Unicorn – Unchained (watercolour)

So one of the pages of the Naughty Unicorn book is actually the original Naughty Unicorn cartoon, but of course, I’m doing it in watercolour so I had to draw the original from scratch.  I decided it’d be nice to share it here.

For comparison, check out the original here.

As with all of these, you can order a signed print if you like, just choose the buy print button under the cartoon 🙂

Naughty Unicorn – Friendship

So I’ve been feeling a little down lately, hence the lack of cartoons in the past couple of weeks.  Sorry about that.

This one came back as another twitter conversation recently.  It seems to be a major belief of the unionist side that those who support independence are filled with hatred for the English.  If not that, then they feel a need to tell people that indy supporters hate the English.  It simply isn’t true, and I felt this needed to be shown in my cartoons, so here’s the unicorn’s good friend, the national animal of England.  It’s been three centuries since they’ve felt the need to fight, and being independent of each other isn’t going to change that 🙂

In other news, I can announce that I’ve written a basic draft manuscript to a children’s book (for ages 0 to 145) called “What A Naughty Unicorn!”  I don’t know how much of an appetite there will be out there for it, but it’s something I’ve wanted to do for a while and it’s nice to now have the basic story written for it.  So that’s nice 🙂

The Nice Tory!

I have to confess, I’ve been avoiding the rape clause in my cartoons as I’ve not been able to find a way of addressing it in the family-friendly theme I’ve been trying to keep.  But the news that Channel 4 now thinks Ruth Davidson is family-friendly enough to appear on Great British Bake Off has left me mortified.  This is a person who supports the punishment of the poor and most vulnerable in our society, Ruth Davidson is not family-friendly, and so to address this, for a moment, I won’t be either.

Bit late with this one, it’s actually yesterday’s cartoon but I started it late and had to give the different layers time to dry.  Anyway, woo! Fracking is banned!  Stick that in your pipe and don’t blow it into the ground, cos you can’t! Yeah!

In other news, I’m doing #Inktober right now, so check out the Facebook, Twitter or Instagram profiles for a new ink doodle every day this month 🙂
